Skills for a Low Carbon and Resource Efficient Economy
Defra, working with DIUS and BERR have commissioned this project in order to get an independent, up to date, review of the current understanding and evidence of the skills requirements for a Low Carbon and Resource Efficient Economy (LCREE). This research will focus on; identifying the LCREE skills needed, factors driving demand, mainstreaming of LCREE skills, understanding and awareness of skills requirements, identification of gaps in skills and the evidence base.
It is expected that this project will map existing evidence and research in this area, produce preliminary findings on areas of existing and future demand and provide recommendations on where future research will be directed. The research will involve consultation and reviewing evidence from a range of key stakeholders. The project will also seek to raise awareness of LCREE with stakeholders as well as opening a dialogue.
The final report is now available, please see the reports section for this and the executive summary.
